LIVE MUSIC THE WAY IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE...FUN!!
For as long as he can remember, Tony Schoepke has loved music. Growing up, he would listen to the radio in his bed until the wee hours, putting it close to his ear so his mother wouldn't hear it and make him turn it off! The first two albums he bought at age 12 were War Child by Jethro Tull and Road Food by The Guess Who. And while he still loves those bands, his musical repertoire has expanded greatly. Influenced by great singer-songwriters like John Mellencamp, Bob Dylan, and Bruce Springsteen, Tony decided to teach himself enough guitar to write songs. Always a sucker for a strong melody, it was his college roommate's Beatles song and chord book that really helped him learn song structure and all of those marvelous chord changes. So he wrote and wrote, song after song (and now has over 200 songs in his catalogue). Some good, some not so great, but always pushing himself creatively.
During college, Tony met Keith Steichen and formed the rock band Thinking Dogs with some other friends. The band showcased many of the originals that Tony and the others wrote as well as some choice covers. Thinking Dogs went on to record a few albums and played numerous gigs around the Duke City. Good times!
Tony took a hiatus to raise a family, but when Keith invited him back to join Night Moves a few years ago, he was all in. Damian and Juan came aboard to make this a complete, well-oiled rock & roll machine! Tony is grateful to still be making music with his friends after all these years.
