LIVE MUSIC THE WAY IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE...FUN!!
John David (just like Vince Neal and Tommy Lee, except they're his real first and last name) is also known as Juan to his friends and bandmates. He's an Albuquerque native who is a self-proclaimed groover and who strives to be the reliable glue between the melody and the beat. A listener first and player next, Juan has music in his blood with diverse influences from Black Sabbath to the Pat Metheny Group and many shapes and sounds in between.
Juan began playing woodwinds in elementary school: first clarinet, then tenor sax and bass clarinet. Then, being introduced to the cool electric instruments in a freshman music class became a life changer. Juan went on to become the core bassist in the stage band, pep band and jazz choir. At age 17, Juan joined the local rock band Riches, performing original music which included one arena gig at the old indoor soccer complex (now Cavalry Chapel). In college, Juan was privileged to play with multiple glam-style hair bands and with some of our top musicians, including Danny Tore (TNA), Frank Gonzales (of Section 8, Metal Storm, and Spanish Fly fame), and Mike Mistretta (formerly Xcape and currently 3rd and 4th Degree), just to name a few. After graduation, Juan hung up his basses to focus on a new career and family.
After being "in the dirt" for nearly three decades, Night Moves came calling and resurrected Juan's music career. As the rookie, Juan is still getting a lot of crap from his bandmates, but loving his return to the local music scene and is forever grateful for the opportunity.
